Empire (7th Ed) at War

Played the First Game with the new 7th Edition Empire Rule Book Against Kieth Frenchs Hords of Chaos (Mortal).

My Army in a Nutshell 2250pts>
Arch Lector on War Chariot (+1STR SWD, 1+ AS, Switch Stats Challenge), WP mounted, ABS mounted, Lv2 Wizard with Rod of Power.

10 IC Knights, 25 Swordsmen with detachments, 20 XBOW with detachments, x8 Outriders, 20 Flaggents, 2 Mortars, 1 Hellstorm RL.

First Impressions:
HellStorm RL is impressive and a bit funny. You really have no idea were its going to hit. I think I hit something once (but it did destroy a 25 man unit of Mauraders). Will take this just for the fun of it, though a Mortar is better for the points.

Mortars> Best WM for the Points period. Cheap, Easy Misfire chart, and who really cares if it misses?

Arch Lector on War Alter. A LOT of Points (around 300pts with Magic Items). I love the model but it would just be cheaper to take him mounted. You lose the Hartred ability as you can not attach a chariot to a Unit. You must take the Switch Stats Item as there is still lots of STR 7 bad guys around.

Empire still plays just like the empire of old but with less shooting and more of a hord feel.
